Pattern in US terms. Make two.

Chain 8. Join with sl st to make a ring.

8-inch (20.32 cm) Character Doll

These were plastic dolls. Amazon and Walmart have the half dolls that you could use to make bed pillow dolls. You might be able to find some of the originals on ebay, or you could make your own dolls or buy the Darice muslin Dolls.

   Pattern in US terms.

   PANTIES: 

Front piece, chain 16 sts, turn; 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining chain st. Ch 1, turn. 

2nd row: Make 1 sc in each st. Ch 1, turn. 

3rd row: Increase 1 sc at the beginning and end of row.

Repeat these last 2 rows until 7 rows have been completed (21 sc). Work 4 rows even.

Break thread.

Make another piece the same way. 

Lacing: With contrasting color make 2 chains, each 75 sts.

Lace the 2 pieces together at the sides.

Should the waist line be a little large, run a piece of thread thru on the first row to fit.

   BRA: 

Starting at the back, chain 5 sts, turn; 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining ch (4 sts). Ch 1, turn.

Work in sc until the piece measures an inch.

* Now increase 1 st at the beginning of the row, 1 sc in each st to end of row. Ch 1, turn. 

Next row: 1 sc in each st across row.

Repeat from * until there are 7 sts.

Work one inch even after last increase.

Decrease 1 st at the same side of increases every other row until 4 sts remain.

Then work one inch even.

Working along top of bra, make 1 sc in each row.

Break thread. 

Halter tie: With the contrasting color make a chain of 50 sts.

   CAPE: 

Starting at neck edge, chain 34 sts, turn; 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each remaining chain. Ch 1, turn. 

2nd row: Working in sc increase 1 st in every 5th st across row. Ch 1, turn. 

3rd row: 1 sc in each st across row.

Repeat these last two rows once more. Ch 1, turn. 

6th row: Pull up a loop in each of the first 2 sts, work off as 1 st (a decrease), 1 sc in each st to within the last 2 sts, make a decrease as before. Ch 1, turn. 

7th-8th-9th rows: Repeat 7th row.

Break thread.

With the contrasting color, make a chain st of 20 sts (this is for a tie); now work along the decrease side of cape as follows: * 1 sc in next st, ch 3, repeat from * all around cape to other corner of starting chain, make a chain of 20 sts for 2nd tie. Break thread.

   SKIRT: 

Starting at the waist line, using the main color, work as the first 5 rows on cape. 

6th row: Increase 1 st in every 4th st across row. Join this round.

Now work every round in sc, stitch for stitch until the piece measures 2 inches in all.

Break thread.

Tie in contrasting color and make 1 row of trim as on the cape, omitting the first and last chain 20. 

Beading at waist line: 

Tie main color at back of skirt waist, ch 4, * skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st, ch 2, repeat from * around top of skirt. Break thread. 

Tie: With the contrasting color make a chain of 100.

   Pattern in UK terms.

   CAPE: Using the angora and No. 2 needles, cast on 18 sts, purl 1 row. 

2nd row: * K 2, yarn over, repeat from * across row, ending with k 2. Purl across next row, purling the yarn over also. K 1 row, p 1 row. 

Next row: * k 1, increase 1 st in next st, repeat from * across row ending with k 2. Work 5 rows even. 

Next row: * K 2, increase 1 st in next st; repeat from * across row, ending with k 2. Work 5 rows even. Bind off all sts loosely. Using the bone hook, make 1 row of sc around cape.

   BONNET: Cast on 30 sts and work in stockinette stitch for 17 rows. Bind off 10 sts at the beginning of the next 2 rows. Work in stockinette stitch on the remaining 10 sts for an inch. Bind off. Sew bound off 10-sts to sides of the one inch piece. Make 1 row of s c across edge of bonnet.

PANTIES … Starting at waist make a chain long enough to reach around doll’s waist. Join, being careful not to twist. 1st rnd: Ch 3, dc in each ch around. Join. 2nd, 3rd and 4th rnds: Ch 3. dc in each dc around. Join. Fold in half, having starting chain at center back, ch 4. sl st in corresponding dc at center front to form crotch. Break off.

TIARA . . . Starting at bottom. ch 40. Join. being careful not to twist.

1st rod: Sc in same place as sl st, * ch 3, skip 1 ch, sc in next ch. Repeat from * around. Join (20 loops).

2nd rnd: Sl st to center of first loop, sc in same loop, * 5 dc in next loop, sc in next loop. Repeat . from * around. Join and break off.

Sew a seed pearl to center dc of each point. Sew veiling to Tiara. String remaining pearls for neck!

PETTICOAT .. Cut a piece of organdy 10 x 16 inches, gather across long side to reach around doll’s waist. Sew up back seam leaving 2 1/2 inch opening. Sew up backing around top of petticoat and opening. Sew a hook and eye to back. Cut bottom of petticoat to correspond with bottom of skirt and train. Roll a narrow he around.

Bean Bag Pattern

MATERIALS REQUIRED
American Thread Company Sillateen Sansil.
3 Balls, White, Solid, Iridescent or Shaded Colors.

Knit Instructions:

Cast on 28 sts with background color.

Beginning with the background color,
Work in K1, P1 ribbing 2 rows.

Knit 1 row.

Purl 1 row.

Start pattern on right side  Follow the chart below. For me, the x were the green, and the empty ones were white.

Start at the top, the first row is a knit row from the right

The second is a purl row from the left

The third is a knit row from the right

The last is a purl row from the left.

Cut the green thread.

If you are knitting in the round, then just follow all rows from the left.

GAUGE: 2 shells make 12 inches; 4 rows of shells make 12 inches.

            RIBBON: 2-yards (1.83 m) of narrow satin.

            Pattern in US Terms:

            DRESS: Starting at the neck edge, make a chain of 18 sts. turn, 1 dc in 4th st from hook, 2 dc in each of the remaining chain sts (30 sts). Ch 3, turn.

2nd row: 1 dc in each of the next 5 sts, ch 1, skip 3 sts, 1 dc in each of the next 12 sts, ch 1, skip 3 sts, 1 dc in next 5 sts, 1 d c in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn.

3rd and 4th rows: 1 dc in each st across row.

            Skirt Part: Continuing on the same piece and pulling up the sts an inch (2.54 cm) long throughout the remainder of the skirt.

1st round: Ch 5, 2 dc in each stitch across row. Join with a slip st to 4th st of ch-5.

2nd round: Ch 5 and repeat 1st round, working through the back loops of the sts on the row below.

            SLEEVES: With the right side of the work facing you, tie yarn in at lower end of armhole. Chain 3, and make 13 dc around arm- hole; join round.

 Break yarn and fasten off.

Make the other sleeve the same way.

            HAT: Chain 23 sts, 1 dc in 3rd st from hook; 2 dc in next 6 sts; pulling up the loops an inch long—make 2 dc in next 7 sts; 2 dc in next 7 sts.

Break yarn, leaving 5 inches (17.78 cm).

Sew up back of bonnet.

            PANTIES: Chain 19 sts, 1 dc in 3rd st from hook; 2 dc in each of the remaining chain sts. Ch 3, turn.

2nd and 3rd rows: Make 1 dc in each st across row.

Break yarn, leaving enough to sew with.

Sew panties onto doll .

Break yarn.

Through the center of the crotch, catch the two pieces together.

            FINISHING: Run ribbon through at waist line and tie in a bow.

Also make a bow for back of hat.

            BOUQUET: Chain 3 sts, join with a slip st to form a ring. Ch 3, make 15 dc into ring.

Join with a slip st.

Break yarn.

Sew in a tiny flower into center and tie onto hand.

            Pattern in UK terms:

            DRESS: Starting at the neck edge, make a chain of 18 sts. turn, 1 tr in 4th st from hook, 2 tr in each of the remaining chain sts (30 sts). Ch 3, turn.

2nd row: 1 tr in each of the next 5 sts, ch 1, skip 3 sts, 1 tr in each of the next 12 sts, ch 1, skip 3 sts, 1 tr in next 5 sts, 1 tr in top of turning chain. Ch 3, turn.

3rd and 4th rows: 1 tr in each st across row.

            Skirt Part: Continuing on the same piece and pulling up the sts an inch (2.54 cm) long throughout the remainder of the skirt.

1st round: Ch 5, 2 tr in each stitch across row. Join with a slip st to 4th st of ch-5.

2nd round: Ch 5 and repeat 1st round, working through the back loops of the sts on the row below.

3rd round: Ch 5, 1 tr in each st around, working through the back loops of the sts on the row below; join with a slip st.

4th-5th-6th rounds: Repeat 3rd round. Break yarn and fasten off.

MATERIALS:

CLARK’S O.N.T. or J. & P. COATS PEARL COTTON, size 5, 1 ball each of light and dark colors.

SIZE  5 Pearl/e CYC 1 UK 2ply Australia 3 ply

Dmc Michaels lists twenty-four colors.

Steel crochet hook No. 6 (1.80mm).

A handful of beans.

This material is sufficient for 2 bean bags.

Pattern in US Terms:

Starting at center with Dark, ch 2. 

1st rnd: In 2nd ch from hook make sc, h dc and 10 dc (12 sts).

Do not join rnds.

Drop Dark, attach Light in 1st sc. 2nd rnd: 2 sc in same st where thread was attached, 2 h dc in next h dc, 2 dc in each dc (24 sts).

Drop Light, pick up Dark. 3rd rnd: * Dc in next st, 2 dc in next st.

Repeat from * around (36 sts).

Drop Dark, pick up Light. 4th rnd: * Dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st.

Repeat from * around (48 sts).

Drop Light, pick up Dark.

Continue thus increasing as necessary (about 12 sts on each rnd) to keep work flat, until piece measures 4½ inches in diameter.

End each color separately by working hdc in next st, sc in next st, sl st in next st. Fasten off.

Make another piece same as this only reversing colors. Sew edges of pieces together.

Before closing the bag, slip a handful of beans inside. Then close opening.

Pattern in UK Terms:

8-inch Character Doll These were plastic dolls. Amazon and Walmart have the half dolls that you could use to make bed pillow dolls. You might be able to find some of the originals on ebay, or you could make your own dolls or buy the Darice muslin Dolls.

Pattern in US Terms

   DRESS YOKE: Using the No. 3 (2.10 mm) steel hook and crochet cotton, make a chain of 37 sts, turn; 1 sc in 2nd st from hook, 1 sc in each st of chain (36 sc). Ch 1, turn. 

Row 2: Make 1 sc in each st across. 

Row 3: Repeat row 2. 

Row 4: Work in sc, decreasing 4 sts across row. 

Row 5: Work even in sc. 

Row 6: Repeat row 4. 

Rows 7-8-9-10: Work even in sc. Ch 3, turn. 

Row 11: Beginning of skirt. * Working through the back thread only, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * across row, join with a slip st in top of ch-3. Ch 3. 

Round 12: Working through both loops of st, make 2 dc in each st around. Join rd. Ch 3. 

Round 13: * 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st; repeat from * around.

Shoulder: Counting from back edge of bodice, tie thread in at the 6th st, make 1 sc in next 2 sts, ch 1, turn. 

Next row: 1 sc in 2 sts, ch 1, turn.

Repeat last row until the piece measures 1¼ inches (3.18 cm).

Break thread leaving 8 inches (20.32 cm) to sew this piece onto front of dress yoke. Leave 10 sts for front neck edge.

Make the other shoulder to correspond. 

Frill at neck edge: Tie thread at one side of back, working from the wrong side, make 2 dc in each st across back, up along strap, across front neck edge and down other side to correspond to first shoulder. Break off thread. Tie in trimming silk and make 1 sc in each st around.

Fasten off.

   SLEEVES: Tie thread at underarm edge and working from right side of work, make 34 dc around armhole.

Join round.

Break thread.

Tie in trimming silk and make 1 sc in each st around.

Fasten off.

   PANTIES: Using the thread, make a chain of 31 sts, turn, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each of the remaining chain sts (30 sts).

Ch 3, turn. 

2nd row: Dc across row, increasing 4 sts across row. 

3rd and 4th rows: Repeat row 2.

Join with a slip st.
