Stitches used in US terms.

Ch       chain

Sc        single crochet

Dc       double crochet

Hdc     half double crochet

Sl st     slip stitch

Ch 12 leaving a long thread to sew sole up, Join with sl st to make a ring.

Row 1 Ch 2, Work 21 hdc in ring. Join with sl st in top of ch.

Row 2 Ch 2, Hdc in next 8 stitches. Work 2 hdc in each of the next 3 stitches. (for toe), hdc in next 8 stitches, work 2 hdc in next 2 stitches (for heel). [24 stitches]

Row 3 ch 1, sc in next 9 stitches (for edge), work 2 sc in each of next 5 stitches (for toe), sc in next 13 stitches. (9 is for other edge and 4 is for heel). [32 stitches].

Side and top{dorsum}of the foot.

Row 1 Ch 2, 32 hdc working in back of stitch only. Sl st in top of ch 2 to close.

Row 2 Work as row 1, except work in whole stitch. Close as before.

Row 3 Ch 1, sc in next 9 stitches, sl st in next stitch (start top of foot) work 6 dc decrease, skip 2 stitches,  sl st to attach to side. Turn.

Row 4 Sl st into first dc, ch 2, (counts as first dc) work 3 dc decreases across. Attach to side as before. Sc in next 6 stitches work sc decrease, close with sl st.

Begin ankle

Row 1. Ch 1, sc in join, *ch 3, skip 2 stitches, sc in next stitch* evenly around. End with ch 2, dc in 1st sc

Row 2. Ch 1 sc in dc, *ch 3 sc in next loop,* around. End with ch 2, dc in top of ch 3.

Row 3. Repeat row 2.

Row 4.  Repeat row 2 up to last ch 3, join with sl st in top of dc.

Row 5. Ch1, sc in join. *3 sc in next ch 3, sc in next sc,* around. Join with sl st in 1st sc.

Cut thread, Finish loose ends.
