Supplies Used:
Size 4 (medium wt) yarn two colors A and B
I used Mainstays Cotton Daylily Pink (A) and Blue Shell (B). ( I bought this at Walmart)
Aunt Lydia’s Fashion thread size 3 white.
Be sure to use a cotton yarn/thread as I tried a synthetic one and it scorched.
After I finished the crochet pattern, I sewed it onto a Dollar Tree Potholder. They come packaged two for a dollar. Now $1.25.
Plastic Crochet Hook G (4mm)
Steel Crochet hook size 00(3.5mm)
Guage
11 stitches = 3 inches (7.62 cm) with size 4 yarn and size G(4mm) hook

With size 4 thread (A) and size G hook, chain 23
Work all sl sts loosely.
Row 1: With color A, sc in 2nd ch from hook; *ch 1, sk next ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: With color A, sc in first sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last sc, sc in last st; change to color B, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: With color B, sc in first sc; *ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next ch-1 sp; rep from * to last 2 sts, ch 1, sk next sc, sc in last sc; ch 1, turn.
Row 4: With color B, rep row 2, change to color A, ch 1, turn.
Row 5: With color A, rep row 3.
Row 6: Repeat row 4.
Rep rows 3–6 for pattern.
Work until item is square. Cut Thread.
Edging Size 3 thread and size 00 steel hook.
Attach white thread anyplace. Ch 1, sc in same place. *Work 3 dc in next stitch, sc in next stitch* around. Cut thread. Finish ends.
Wash both the crochet piece and the potholder in warm water, and dry at high heat. Then position crochet over potholder, and whipstitch around to attach them together.
