Supplies Used:
Aunt Lydia’s Size 10 Cotton Crochet Thread. white
1 steel hook size 6 (1.80mm)

Dollar Tree Frame 4in (10.2mm) square.

I used this one.

Dollar Tree silver metallic marker.

Steps to prepare the frame.

I pulled the stand off the back of the picture frame.

Then I lifted cardboard back to get the insides out.

I replaced the glass (if you want this water tight, use hot glue seal around the glass). Then I cut a white surrounding mat.

Next I cut a piece of white paper the same size as the inside of the frame and painted that with the silver metallic pen to match the frame.

Last, I placed the finished crochet piece on top of the glass (centered in the mat), and put the back cardboard piece back on and used hot glue to hold everything in place.

I used a size US size 6 steel (Metric 1.9mm) crochet hook and size 10 cotton crochet thread.

Finished size 2 inches (5.08 cm)

Stitches in US Terms

Sp/sp————-space or loop

Dtr/dtr———–double crochet

Ch/ch————chain

Dc/dc————double crochet

Hdc/hdc———half double crochet

p/picot———- ch 5, sl st in last sc

Sl st/sl st———slip stitch

Pattern in US terms.

Ch 7, join to form a ring.

Row 1: Ch 10, dtr in ring, (chain 3, dtr) 12 times in ring, ch 3, sl st in 7 th st of 1 st ch 10.

Row 2: ** (2 sc in next sp, p, 2 sc in same space) twice, 4 sc in next sp, 1 sc in next sp.

(This forms the sides of the pattern)* ch 8, sk last sc, sl st back in previous sc, ch 1, (1 sc, 1 hdc, 4 dc, a 5-ch p, 4 dc, 1 hdc and 1 sc) all in 8-ch lp, *

(This is what I like to think of as the chain 8 block).

(1 sc, ch 1 and 2 dc) in same 3-ch sp,

(this closes the chain 8 block)

(1 tr, 2 dtr, ch 2, 2 dtr and 1 tr) in next sp, (2 dc, ch 1 and 2 sc) in next sp, 1 sc in next sp.

(This forms the little pyramid shape between the chain 8 blocks)

Repeat from * to*

(This is the chain 8 block again.)

3 sc in same 3-ch sp.

This closes the chain 8 block) At this point I’ve used 7 spaces and have 7 left.

Repeat from ** and join.

Stitches in UK terms.

Ch 7, join to form a ring.

Row 1: Ch 10, dtr in ring, (chain 3, dtr) 12 times in ring, ch 3, ss in 7 thst of 1 st ch 10.

Row 2: ** (2 dc in next sp, p, 2 dc in same space) twice, 4 dc in next sp, 1 dc in next sp.

(This forms the sides of the pattern)* ch 8, sk last dc, sl st back in previous dc, ch 1, (1 dc, 1 hdc, 4 tr, a 5-ch p, 4 tr, 1 hdc and 1 dc) all in 8-ch lp, *
